Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can I get a car wrap on a leased vehicle?
Yes. A car wrap is one of the best options for leased vehicles because it protects the original factory paint and removes cleanly when your lease ends — no damage, no penalties for wear. We recommend documenting the paint condition before installation so you have a clear record when you return the vehicle.
What's the difference between a car wrap and a custom paint job?
A professional car wrap typically costs a fraction of a comparable custom paint job, can be removed to restore the original color, and protects the factory paint underneath from UV, moisture, and rock chips. Paint is permanent — any damage requires repainting. For drivers who want a new look without a lifetime commitment, a wrap is the smarter investment.
Will paint protection film (PPF) change how my car looks?
The premium PPF we install at IKON Edition is virtually invisible. It doesn’t alter your vehicle’s color or finish — gloss, matte, or satin — and modern self-healing films eliminate minor swirl marks and scratches with heat from the sun, keeping the surface flawless without any extra effort on your part.
How long does window tint last, and when can I wash my car after tinting?
The window films we install come with a lifetime warranty against fading, bubbling, and peeling. After installation, we recommend leaving windows up and avoiding washing the vehicle for 3 to 5 days to allow the adhesive to fully cure. After that, your tinted windows can be washed normally without any special precautions.
What window tint percentage is legal in California?
California law requires a minimum of 70% visible light transmission (VLT) on the front windshield and front side windows. Rear side windows and the rear windshield have no VLT restriction, which is why most clients choose between 20% and 35% for those. We install all tint in compliance with California Vehicle Code so you won’t have issues at inspections.
Is a chrome delete permanent, or can it be reversed?
Chrome delete is fully reversible. We wrap the chrome trim with premium vinyl — we never remove or alter the original hardware. If you ever want to go back to stock, the vinyl peels off cleanly without leaving residue or damage. Most clients choose matte black or gloss black, but we work with any color or finish you have in mind.
How long does a commercial fleet wrap project take?
For fleet vehicles, the process starts with a consultation to understand your brand and goals. Design typically takes 3 to 7 business days depending on complexity, and installation is 1 to 2 days per vehicle. We can work on multiple units simultaneously to keep your fleet’s downtime to a minimum.
Can I take my car through an automatic car wash with PPF or a wrap installed?
Touchless (no-contact) car washes are safe for both PPF and vinyl wraps. Brush or sponge car washes can lift film edges over time, especially on high-contact areas like mirrors and spoilers. We recommend hand washing or touchless washes with a pH-neutral soap to get the longest life out of your film.
Do you do graphics for storefronts and offices, not just vehicles?
Yes. In addition to vehicles, IKON Edition designs and installs window graphics for storefronts, wall decals for interiors, building signage, wayfinding systems, and trade show displays. Every project includes design, printing, and professional installation. If you have a business in Orange County and need to communicate your brand visually, we can help.
Do you work with clients outside of Laguna Hills?
Yes, we serve all of Orange County and surrounding areas including Irvine, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, Rancho Santa Margarita, and the greater San Diego area. For fleet or signage projects, we also offer consultations and can coordinate installations beyond our local area.
